Re-Rooting The Hair My 1985 Hasbro Jem Doll

This is just a quick photo post! 

I don't know what happened to this doll, 

I recently acquired her online. 

I hope this isn't her original style - 

maybe a kid took scissors to one section of her hair.

This poor doll has probably been having a bad hair day for 
29 YEARS... Yikes!

Here is my inspiration photo:

Now that's what Jem is supposed to look like!

I chose the wildest hot pink that I had for the hair color.

Removed all of the ruined hair plugs, 

plus a few extra plugs so that I had a nice even area to fill in with pink.
I wanted to retain as much of that original blonde underneath as possible.
I had a feeling it would end up making her look more like the above picture.

Halfway finished with re-rooting:

Yes, I ruined her light-up earrings!! :(

I couldn't figure out any other way remove her head.

All finished re-rooting, 

and now she just needs hot & cold water soaks 

to style all this untamed new hair!

THE FINISHED PRODUCT:

Jem is wearing her original 

belt and magenta pumps.

She is in a Barbie Fashionistas poofy pink dress 

(until I can fix or replace her original outfit).

She also holds a cute little silver clutch purse.
